“We Are Hard-Pressed on Every Side, But Not Crushed” (2 Corinthians 4:8)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Greetings in the most precious and holy name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We pray this letter finds you and your loved ones in the grace and peace of God. On behalf of the Board of Directors, the congregations, and the communities we serve across Haiti, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your steadfast support of Christian Mission South Haiti (CMSH).

Every prayer, every donation, every act of love you extend is a seed planted into the fertile soil of God's Kingdom work in Haiti. As Jesus reminds us in Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”We want to thank each and every one of you who have made it possible for CMSH to continue its mission—both spiritually and practically—across Haiti.

Your generosity has helped feed hungry families, educate children, light dark rooms, and most importantly, shine the light of Christ in some of the most difficult circumstances on Earth.Special thanks go out to those who contributed towards our battery and solar lighting initiative.

The provision of batteries has brought literal and spiritual light to our churches and schools, allowing our congregations to gather, worship, and study God’s Word even during frequent power blackouts.Additionally, your contributions of food have gone a long way in sustaining many families in our congregations and school communities.

Many children received nutritious meals that otherwise would have been out of reach. As the Apostle James wrote, “Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” (James 2:15-16).While we rejoice in the fruit of your support, we also write to you from a place of deep concern.

The situation in Haiti remains dire. The country continues to face tremendous challenges due to gang violence, economic instability, and political uncertainty. Flights out of Port-au-Prince have either been suspended or require exorbitant costs. It has become nearly impossible for many to travel, even when it is necessary for ministry or family reasons.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers as we navigate this difficult time. Our ministry workers, pastors, and church members continue to serve faithfully, even as many of them face personal hardship. We also ask that you remember the families of CMSH staff, including the family of Jean Alix Lusma, in your daily prayers.

Life is difficult—but the joy of the Lord remains our strength. One such project is our Agricultural Garden Ministry. God has blessed us with a water well and a submersible pump—two essential tools. But to fully launch this garden, which has the potential to support 30 to 40 families per season, we are still in need of two vital resources:- Additional piping for irrigation  - A diesel-powered generatorThis garden will be a source of nourishment and independence.

It reflects the teaching of the Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.” We believe this project empowers our members to become providers for their homes and witnesses of God’s provision in their communities. In addition to agricultural needs, we are also in urgent need of desktop computers and monitors. These will serve both our school children and church administration.

With more and more tasks requiring digital access—including correspondence, school records, discipleship training, and Bible study materials—we ask you to prayerfully consider donating or helping us acquire:- Desktop computers (new or gently used)  - Monitors  - Keyboards, mice, and basic networking tools These resources are not luxuries—they are tools for education, connection, and evangelism.

As Paul told Timothy, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15). Having access to technology will help our students and ministry workers do just that.We have been praying for God to provide motorcycles to help our pastors and mission workers reach rural congregations and communities more safely and swiftly.

This project is still in progress—and we believe with faith, your continued support, and the will of God—it will soon come to pass. Our God is faithful. As Paul reminds us in Philippians 4:19, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”Please lift up in prayer:- The children of Haiti who are struggling with hunger and a lack of education.  - Our local congregations who often gather under harsh conditions.

The staff and volunteers of CMSH who serve with unwavering dedication.  - Our mission board: Pastor Jim Johnston, Nervin Cutus, Brother Deriso Russel, Alex Lusma, and Jean A. Lusma.  - Families impacted by violence, poverty, and displacement.  - The future of Haiti, that the Lord will raise up new leaders and restore peace to this suffering nation.

As the Apostle Paul reminds us, “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests” (Ephesians 6:18). We truly believe that your prayers move mountains, and through them, Haiti will experience renewal, one soul and one community at a time.Let us remember together the words of Jesus in John 9:4:  “As long as it is day, we must do the works of Him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.”So we work, we sow, we serve—faithfully—because the harvest is near.Thank you again for your love, your support, and your partnership in Christ.

In the unshakable name of Jesus,

Jean Alix Lusma
