Friends of Christian Mission South Haiti (CMSH)
We greet you in the name of the Lord and thank you for standing with us through your prayers, encouragement, and faithful support. This January, we are writing with an urgent update that touches our work directly and requires your prayers in a special way.
An electrical fire happened in the office of Brother Jean Alix Lusma. By God’s grace there was no loss of life and no injuries, but the damage was serious.

Printers, a fan, and many important documents were burned. This office is a central place for our administration and communication, and the loss of equipment and records will affect our ability to print, organize, and report as we normally do.
We are asking all friends of CMSH to place a strong emphasis on prayer for this situation. We trust God will allow us to replace every piece of equipment that was destroyed and restore what was lost, but we need His provision and protection as we rebuild.

Even in the middle of this hardship, the work continues. Our School Expansion Program remains a priority. Because our school serves more than 400 students and the classrooms are overcrowded, we are moving forward with plans to add onto our existing structures to create more safe learning space.

This expansion is necessary to protect the quality of education and provide better conditions for our teachers and students.

We also continue to focus on transportation for our preachers. Many congregations are far apart and difficult to reach. Reliable transportation helps our preachers travel safely to teach, encourage the churches, and serve families in remote areas. Your support in this area strengthens the ministry and keeps the Gospel moving across the region.
In spite of the challenges, we also have reason to rejoice. During the month of January, there were two baptisms. We give thanks to God for every soul that responds to the Gospel, and we ask you to keep these new Christians in your prayers as they continue to grow in faith.
Thank you again for your love and prayers. Please keep CMSH in your prayers this month, and especially remember the fire and the urgent needs it created. God is faithful, and we believe He will help us move forward.
With love, faith, and urgency,
Jim Johnston
