Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings to you all, I hope this message finds you well, on behalf of all of us at Christian Mission South Haiti, we want to wish you all a Merry Christmas & a happy new year of 2024. I am writing to share the challenges we are facing in Haiti, the poorest country in the Americas. Each day brings difficult news, with stories of suffering and despair.
Within our mission at Christian Mission South Haiti, we are dedicated to helping the most vulnerable in our society, including orphaned children, young women who are victims of sexual violence, and those struggling to provide for fatherless children. The circumstances are dire, and many children cannot even attend school.
The economic situation is severe, with many unable to afford basic necessities such as kerosene for lamps. Gangs have taken control of the country, leading to violence and fear. People are forced to join these gangs or face dire consequences, and even girls are not spared from this violence.
In the face of such challenges, we open our doors to refugees fleeing violence, offering them a place to stay, nourishment, and support. Some women, after giving birth, find themselves unable to leave the area due to lack of funds for transportation.
As we approach the end of the year, the children in our care eagerly anticipate receiving gifts. Many of them lack basic items such as clothes and shoes. We humbly ask for your prayers and any support you can provide. Even the smallest contribution can make a significant difference in these difficult circumstances.
We urgently need financial assistance and food supplies. The situation is dire, and we are doing our best to help those in need. Additionally, we lack sufficient Bibles for our church services. Some services have only one or two Bibles, making it challenging for all believers to access the Word of God.
Despite these challenges, our preachers remain steadfast in their commitment to sharing the Gospel. The people's faith is unwavering, even in the face of economic hardship.
Healthcare is another pressing issue, with many suffering from anemia, hernias, and dental problems. Some individuals, including myself, lack access to proper dental care.
I encourage you to join us in prayer and to contribute whatever you can to support our mission. Your assistance will be a blessing to those in need, and no gift is too small.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year in 2024.
