HURRICANE MELISSA IMPACT UPDATE

Thursday, October 30, 2025
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”— Psalm 34:18
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

We write to you today with heavy hearts as Hurricane Melissa’s impact on southern Haiti has finally subsided, leaving behind devastation beyond measure. Though the storm has passed, the damage and loss are staggering.

Entire villages have been destroyed. Homes have collapsed or washed away. Families are now sheltering inside classrooms and church buildings. Public schools are closed indefinitely, and hospitals remain under water or inaccessible. The loss of life is in the hundreds, and thousands more are displaced with no food, clean water, or shelter.

The people of southern Haiti are enduring unimaginable suffering. What we see today is not simply damage—it is a humanitarian crisis. Yet in the midst of this darkness, we continue to hold fast to the hope and promise of Christ.
“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair.”— 2 Corinthians 4:8

Christian Mission South Haiti (CMSH) is on the ground, responding as best we can—providing prayer, comfort, and relief to those in dire need. But the scale of the disaster is far greater than our current resources. We are urgently appealing for your participation and support.
At this critical moment, monetary and physical donations are a must. We are collecting:
  • Funds for immediate emergency relief and rebuilding efforts
  • Clothing and blankets for displaced families
  • Food and clean water for those who have lost everything
  • Medicine and first-aid supplies for the injured and sick
If your church, organization, or family wishes to help, please contact us directly or send contributions to:

We also remind our supporters that Christian Mission South Haiti is listed on the Benevity platform, allowing corporate and workplace donors to contribute directly to our hurricane relief efforts. If your employer participates in Benevity, please consider selecting Christian Mission South Haiti as your supported charity—and share this opportunity with others who wish to help.

“Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.”— 1 John 3:18

Your love, prayers, and generosity will bring hope to those who have lost everything. Together, we can lift up our brothers and sisters and help rebuild what the storm has torn down.

With love, faith, and urgency,
