Ministry Update - September 2025

Ministry Update — Christian Mission South Haiti (CMSH)

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We praise the Father and the Son for His sustaining mercy, and we pray that the blessings of Christ rest upon each of you.

Since Thursday, September 25, our region in southern Haiti has entered a heavy rainy season. Continuous rain on Friday and Saturday brought flooding across our communities. As is too often the case, the poorest have suffered most. Floodwaters have damaged or swept away crops and livestock, and many homes—simple structures that cannot withstand prolonged rain—have been compromised. These are our brothers and sisters, our neighbors, and the families we serve daily through CMSH.

We are responding as quickly as we can, but this is an emergency. We urgently need funds for food, medicine, clothing, and other essentials to stabilize vulnerable families. Your generosity has always been a lifeline; today it is literally a matter of daily bread and basic health.

Last month I traveled to the United States. Though time was short, I was blessed to see a few of you in Florida—Brother Rusel Deriso; Brother Lenzo Murel and his family; and Pastor Stuart Fritz Gerald, his family, and their church. I missed many others, and I hope to see you soon. Thank you for your prayers and faithful support. You are people of faith, and you act by faith. We feel your partnership on the ground here every day.

Our schools in Haiti are scheduled to reopen next week after a one-week delay. We are grateful to God for this progress, but we still face real constraints. As we shared earlier, our classrooms are insufficient for the number of students God has entrusted to us. Many of you responded sacrificially; however, we received about half of the funds needed. We must complete this classroom so our children can learn in safety and dignity. If you are able, please help us close the gap.

We also rejoice that one motorcycle for a preacher has been provided—praise God! These motorcycles enable our ministers to reach remote congregations with the gospel and pastoral care. We still need four more to equip the rest of our field preachers. Your gift toward a motorcycle has a direct, immediate impact on evangelism and discipleship.

Please keep Christian Mission South President and his family in prayer; his wife recently underwent surgery. Pray also for our participation at ICOM in Atlanta, Georgia. Our President will represent the mission there. If you plan to attend, we would be honored to greet you at our booth and share how God is working in Haiti.

Thank you for standing with us in prayer, in giving, and in encouragement. “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Your partnership strengthens the church, feeds the hungry, educates children, and advances the gospel.
