Christian Mission South Haiti has been working for over 3 decades bringing humanitarian aid and the word of Christ to the South of Haiti. Our Mission has always been to support and bring awareness to the Word wherever possible. Since 1992, our team has worked with various organizations from the US to building schools, churches, and much needed medical supplies to Aux Cayes and its surrounding regions.
Years of Hard work was destroyed in a matter of seconds on August 14th, 2021. The Southern Regions of Haiti was hit with a 7.2 magnitude earthquake. Three major cities have suffered irreparable damage. Homes, churches, schools, etc have been destroyed and most are without a place to stay.
Our Main office which is located in Les Cayes was subsequently flattened. That building houses the Mission’s Radio station, clinic, and guest house for volunteers when they visit Haiti. Our Main church building suffered damages and the wall surrounding it as well. Our orphanage which is located 15 miles from our Main office suffered significant damages. We are still assessing the economic damages, but right now our main focus is to help those in need of vital medical help, food, and other life saving supplies.
We write to ask you for your support for the people of Les Cayes following this devastating earthquake. So far the death toll is a 300 with 1800 injured.
